The course is aimed at those who want to be
managers in the entertainment or events industries, it’s very hands on course the students get
involved with external stakeholders and with the university putting on and producing events.
Key modules within the degree are events strategy, events logistics, and entertainment operations. Students choose this course because the location
in central London is ideal, it’s the global hub for the events and tourism industry and
also they work on a local level with the uni on graduation and our food festivals. Our
location enables us to go on many field trips into london itself and to engage with speakers
and managers from the industries. Students choose London South Bank University
(LSBU) because we’re located in the center of London, a global multi billion pound events
and entertainments city, we’re also a campus university where students, study, learn and
live on the same site and we also have excellent relationships with businesses and councils
involved in the Events and Entertainment industries. Students will develop a range of practical
hands on skills both in the classroom and whilst out on placement after years one and two,
an example of a really popular placement opportunity is that offered by Seed Staff agency where
students get to go to and work at range of different music and sporting events throughout
the summer. Students will also work in teams to develop and deliver their own events here
at LSBU during their final year of study. Students have a diverse range of opportunities
after graduating such as; working in theme parks, night clubs, party and wedding planning,
corporate hospitality and conference exhibition centers to name but a few. Students work here
in london, in the U.K and more widely in europe and other parts of the world.
